"This bill ensures that ****** predators are not allowed back on the streets by requiring them to serve out their sentences and stay where they belong, in prison," Senator Westrich said in closing remarks, and asked colleagues for a yes vote. The motion to read the bill for the final time carried, the title was agreed to, and the Senate recorded the final passage vote as I 46, Nay 0.
The Senate excused several members during the roll call but proceeded to lock the voting system and record the unanimous result. After passage, the chamber agreed to message the bill as enacted per regular procedure.
The bill text, as read on the floor, was presented as House File 2515; the secretary announced the bill as being enacted by the State of Iowa once the Senate passed it and the title was agreed to.
