Denton trustees approve claims, table St. Mary’s Addition items to April 7

The Denton Village Board of Trustees approved claims lists A ($14,274.25) and B ($4,736.13) and February payroll of $8,899.42 and adjourned at 7:52 p.m. Chair Joe Hobelman called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. and confirmed the Nebraska Open Meetings Act posting in the meeting room.

Project engineer Tim Gergen of Clark & Enersen briefed the board on three changes to the St. Mary’s Addition preliminary plat — a modified turnaround at the end of 6th Street, a sidewalk alignment extending past Rosary Drive, and a drainage plan with two basins — and the board voted to table each item until the April 7 meeting to allow for a written clarification from Village Engineer Craig Bennett. Trustee Doug Rosekrans moved to table the turnaround and drainage items, and Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to table the sidewalk; all motions carried.

"There will be two drainage basins," engineer Tim Gergen said while outlining the revised drainage map. The clerk noted the village attorney recommended obtaining a written statement from Village Engineer Craig Bennett on whether the turnaround change amounts to a waiver.

The board left several items for fuller review at the next meeting, including Lower NRD attendance for water-quantity questions and additional documentation on the St. Mary’s proposals.
