The Planning and Zoning Commission voted 7–0 to approve an amended preliminary plat for the Coyle Lakes townhomes project, a redevelopment approved previously by the City Council. The amendment creates a phased development plan so the project can start with 45 lots and about 5.9 acres in Phase 1 and complete 16 lots in Phase 2.
Siliana Morijon, senior planner, said the original PD was approved in January 2024 and the preliminary plat amendment restructures the project into two phases with open space lots required by code. Commissioner Pollard spoke for the record to urge city council to rezone the broader North Shore area to better align with the comprehensive plan, but voted in favor because the plat meets statutory requirements.
