Police eligibility lists trimmed; two candidates reported hired from entry list

Chairman Peter Kratt asked Police Chief Daniel Fischbach to describe recent removals from the entry police eligibility list. Chief Fischbach said the department continues to work through both entry and lateral lists and that candidates were removed for reasons including failing to meet minimum hiring requirements, failing to respond, or asking that their names be removed. Recording Secretary Diane Szlempa said 10 names were removed from the entry list and two candidates have been hired from the list.
The commission also moved to remove names from the lateral police eligibility list and update that list. Commissioner Alan Wojciechowski made the motion, Commissioner Bill Greaney seconded, and the motion passed unanimously, 3-0.
