The Notus City Council voted unanimously April 6 to set the FY 2026–27 budget hearing for Aug. 3, 2026. Council President Rob Hartsock moved to set the date; Councilman Blaide Connor seconded and the motion passed on a 3–0 roll call (Hartsock: yes; B. Connor: yes; L. Connor: yes).
Councilwoman Lupita Connor asked about the status of the previous year’s audit; Mayor David Porterfield said auditors collected records in December but have experienced staffing and computer-system issues and that the audit remains "within the required time frame." The scheduling decision provides staff additional months to finalize documents and present proposed appropriations at the hearing.
