Planning Commission approves revised site plan for Cleveland Computer at 67 W. Vine St.

The Alliance City Planning Commission on May 20 approved a revised site plan for Cleveland Computer at 67 W. Vine St., allowing the company to remove a proposed gate onto Vine Street, shift a perimeter fence, and add an employee-only driveway to Jefferson.

Shaun O’Brien, general contractor for Cleveland Computer, told the commission the gate was removed over safety concerns for semi-trucks turning onto Vine where cars park on both sides. O’Brien said the fence was moved "in line with the building" to protect the adjacent property owner. He described the proposed driveway as limited to employees, saying, "it is only for employees." O’Brien also confirmed the project will include a concrete apron onto Jefferson and "around 200 and some feet of drainage."

City Assistant Engineer Lukus Resek told commissioners that engineering recommended approval because the items on the engineering comment list had been corrected. Pete Wearstler, Director of Planning and Development, said he recommended approval "based on the engineer's comments."

John Gross moved to approve the revised site plan; Elayne Dunlap seconded. The commission voted "all in favor," and the motion passed. The approval covers the changes discussed before the commission, with staff to verify that the concrete apron and drainage work meet engineering specifications.
