UMP Plus UW Medicine ACN offers lower-cost option for eligible PEBB and SEBB members

Lauren Johnston, a UMP account manager with the Health Care Authority, opened the webinar and presented an overview of UMP Plus and the UW Medicine Accountable Care Network (ACN). "UMP plus is the medical plan that is made up of 2 ACNs that are offered by the SEBB and PEP program," Johnston said, and she noted UMP Plus has enrolled more than 47,000 members since its launch. She defined an ACN as a group of primary care providers, specialists, clinics and hospitals that coordinate care to improve health outcomes and help manage costs.
Johnston listed the UW Medicine ACN service area and eligibility rules: Benton, Franklin, King, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Spokane and Thurston counties, and membership is limited to subscribers who live in one of those counties and meet program membership rules (employees and enrolled dependents, certain continuation and retiree rules). She cautioned the plan may not be a good fit for members who prefer providers outside the UW Medicine ACN network or whose dependents live out of state or outside the listed counties.
