Council liaisons preview Conservation Advisory Council, BID, Parks & Rec meetings and veterans events; Black History Month nominations due Dec. 31

Council liaisons used the meeting to preview upcoming advisory and community events. Councilman Burgess said the Conservation Advisory Council will meet on Dec. 12 and intends to bring a draft annual report to the Dec. 16 council meeting. Councilman Bassett reminded the council that the Business Improvement District board will meet Jan. 14, 2025, at 6 p.m., and Councilwoman Talbot said Parks & Rec will meet Dec. 17 and that she has been coordinating with Jonathan Zamora on connector services and committee leadership.
The deputy thanked American Legion Post 274 for a well-attended Pearl Harbor memorial on Dec. 7 and promoted Wreaths Across America events on Dec. 14 at Assumption and Hillside cemeteries. The mayor also reminded members that nominations for Black History Month should be submitted to the city clerk by Dec. 31. "It was a real kick off to the holiday season," the deputy said of the recent tree lighting.
