Karen Correira, who said she lives on Elm Street and does not have a driveway, asked the council to place winter-parking signage so she can park on-street between December and April. "I don't have a driveway, so I have to park on this ... I thought maybe you guys will put a sign up," Correira said; Chief Galuski and DPW staff said they would review why Elm Street did not have a sign and follow up with her after the meeting.
Designer and signage-committee member Sepp Spillenhauer told the council he was "very dismayed" that the committee's preferred option had not been used and urged full-scale mockups and accurate color samples before the city proceeds: "Mock ups are important," he said, arguing that visual tests help avoid long-term design mistakes. Council members and staff acknowledged the comments and directed staff to review the Elm Street signage and the committee's prior recommendations.
