The mayor opened a public hearing on RZ‑25‑2, a rezoning request to convert 57.91 acres on US‑42 from Restricted Industrial (I‑1) to Planned Unit Development (PUD).
Dwight McCabe, who gave his name and address for the record, told the council the project has continued to evolve and that there is strong interest from potential developers, saying, "We've had lots of activity, frankly." He noted there are letters of intent and that the team is continuing traffic studies and discussions with the city engineering staff to finalize development plans.
The presenter offered to answer council questions and left the hearing open briefly for public comment; no additional participants testified and the mayor closed the hearing. Council did not take action at this meeting; future hearings and engineering coordination were noted as next steps.
