Council approves ARPA allowance and moves forward on solar projects

The Peekskill Common Council voted to satisfy ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) obligation requirements and authorized use of state and local fiscal recovery funds under the Treasury's standard allowance for government services.
"This resolution authorizes the city manager to obligate state and local fiscal recovery funds ... utilizing the standard allowance provided the US Treasury as public sector laws renewed toward government service," council members were told. The council also approved a contract with Arcadia Engineering to review potential solar installations on the Campfield Reservoir and authorized a lease agreement with Working Power ECP LLC for community solar facilities on city-owned property.
Councilors said the solar-related steps are preliminary: the Arcadia agreement funds a technical review and the lease authorizes staff to pursue site-level community solar opportunities. Staff will return with scopes, budgets and timelines for each project.
