Council reviews street-closure requests for Peekskill Middle School graduation and Assumption procession

She said the city met with the church and police on Nov. 18 to adjust the route because of vehicle and participant numbers and that the procession would be on Dec. 29, with lineup at about noon and the procession running roughly 1–2 p.m. Council members asked how residents along Riverbend and other affected streets would be notified and discussed traffic-handling details; staff said they would coordinate with property owners and the chief of police and bring formal resolutions back next week.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about staging and traffic-flow controls; staff said the police chief helped design a method to separate walkers and drivers on return to the church to reduce bottlenecks. No formal votes on the closures were recorded in the transcript during this discussion.
