City Manager Matt asked the Peekskill City Council to set a public hearing for Dec. 23 on a proposal to create two short-term parking spaces on Washington Street. The spots would be added to Section 2-90-91 (Schedule 16) of the city’s vehicle-and-traffic code and would be enforced from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Matt said the city would notify nearby residents before the hearing and that the change is one discrete step while staff prepares a more comprehensive review of the vehicle-and-traffic code in early 2025. "The area would be designated for 2 15 minute parking spots from 8AM to 8PM, Monday through Sunday," he said. Council members who spoke signaled general agreement and asked staff to ensure other, outdated sign entries are reviewed as part of the broader code update.
