Council extends Murano Brothers sidewalk snow-removal contracts
Summary
The council authorized extensions of two Murano Brothers contracts to continue private-sidewalk snow removal for residential and commercial locations (bid nos. 2024-001 and 2024-002). Councilors said Murano was deployed about three times last season and that service met city needs.

The Peekskill Common Council voted to extend two contracts with Murano Brothers for snow removal on privately maintained sidewalks for the 2024–25 winter season.
Acting City Manager Chris told the council that Murano Brothers was the vendor last season and that the two contracts in question are bid numbers 2024-001 and 2024-002. "Murano Brothers was, awarded the 2 contracts, bid numbers 2024Dash001 and 2024Dash002," he said when outlining the request to reauthorize the agreements. Council members asked how often the company was used last winter; staff estimated about three deployments and reported satisfaction with performance.
The council adopted resolution J-13 to extend the agreements under the same terms and conditions. City staff said the contracts cover instances where private property owners fail to comply with sidewalk snow-removal obligations under city code and will remain in place for the coming season.
