County Manager J. Jordan Barela outlined a proposed $124,199.75 amendment to Wilson & Company's agreement for additional design and engineering tied to relocating the administrative building to the Circle Barn Ranch subdivision and to increased construction cost estimates. Barela described line items including alternate site design, civil engineering, drainage reports and value-engineering work to reduce the building footprint and cost.
Chair Ryan Schwebach said he was not willing to approve the amendment without Wilson representatives present and challenged a referenced $22 million earlier cost figure, asking to defer until the company could answer questions. "We never gave them a $22 million budget ever," Schwebach said. There was no motion to approve and the item received no action; the Manager said he would request Wilson attend the next appropriate meeting to answer detailed questions.
