Board recognizes boys soccer team; coach praises community character

"It's a privilege to coach these boys and, rep represent Parkland," Meng said, and he recounted a practice-night incident in which two players stopped to help an elderly motorist whose car was teetering off an embankment. "They sent a video... when they dragged this car out of the ditch, you could hear rattling and metal... Dolly wrote a letter, sent it to the high school and to the athletic department." The coach used the anecdote to note the players' sportsmanship, classroom efforts and community-minded behavior. The board and attendees applauded the team recognition.
