The Whitley County Board of Commissioners voted to approve an engagement letter with Peterson Consulting Services Incorporated to assist with the county's 2026 capital asset reporting.
Pamela, a staff member who explained the contract, told the Board: "We are required to do a capital asset report every year." She said the firm helps prepare information that tracks county assets and calculates depreciation and related accounting details the county does not do in‑house.
A commissioner moved to approve the contract "as presented," another seconded, and the Chair called for a hand/voice vote. The Chair stated the motion carries. The Board left execution details and signature placement to staff as part of finalizing the agreement.
The engagement was presented as a routine administrative step to ensure the county complies with annual reporting requirements and to capture depreciation and other accounting data for financial statements.
