The Parkland School District board approved an affiliation agreement with Kutztown University to place two graduate students from the university's master of education reading specialist program as district interns for the 2025–26 academic year.
Speaker 10 (committee presenter) described the agreement terms: in exchange for work performed by the student interns the district will pay the university the in-state graduate tuition amount for 24 credit hours per full academic semester plus summer sessions, "which shall not exceed $15,500 per student per academic year payable in 2 installments within 30 days of the invoice by the university." The board approved the motion after a second and brief procedural handling.
The term of the agreement is for the 2025–2026 academic year and may be terminated by either party with 90 days' notice. The motion was moved and seconded and recorded as passed on the consent-like committee item list.
