The Town of Sellersburg Redevelopment Commission on Aug. 3 opened and acknowledged two responses to an RFP for the Old Sellersburg Elementary School.
Nick Lawrence told the commission the RFP was posted in June and responses were due on the Friday before the meeting; the two respondents were Ironman Properties (Lafayette) and Shireman Construction Management (Lanesville). Lawrence said the submissions will be forwarded to the evaluation committee — Pat, Doug and Randy Mobley — which will review, score, and, if needed, interview respondents before making a recommendation to the commission.
Lawrence explained the commission may accept, reject, or open confidential negotiations after the committee’s recommendation; state statute and the RFP govern the disposition timeline and next steps. The commission did not take further action Wednesday and left the matter for the evaluation committee to consider.
