DeWitt County Finance Committee reviews FY26 budget, briefly enters executive session on labor talks

The DeWitt County Finance Committee convened Sept. 9, 2025, at 5:05 p.m. in the County Building. Chair Melonie Tilley moved, and Megan Myers seconded, that the committee go into executive session at 5:06 p.m. for labor negotiations; the motion carried on a voice vote. The committee returned to open session at 5:25 p.m., after which members continued review of fiscal year 2026 budget requests.
Committee members reviewed multiple departmental and fund requests but recorded no formal approvals at the meeting. County Administrator Dee Rentmeister participated in the review. At the end of the meeting, Terry Ferguson moved, seconded by Claro Carter, to adjourn at 6:40 p.m.; that motion also carried on a voice vote. The committee scheduled its next meeting for Sept. 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
