Committee approves two new patrol Explorers and one Ranger F-150 purchase; staff to confirm documentation details

The committee approved staff recommendations to acquire two new 2026 Ford Explorers for patrol use at a combined purchase price of $92,234 and to acquire a 2026 Ford F-150 (Ranger) at $48,625.

Staff said the patrol vehicles were purchased through a joint procurement program and the Ranger through a master bidding arrangement. Councilors raised questions about apparent document or administrative fees applied to some used-vehicle purchases and asked whether the same fees apply to new purchases; staff clarified that the new vehicle purchases in question are not subject to document fees. Councilor Beck and others asked staff to circulate the backup documentation supporting the purchases. The committee moved and approved the staff recommendations and indicated the items will be processed in accordance with procurement rules.
