Committee advances Flight Services of Wadsworth LLC franchise payment for 2026–27

Assistant Service Director Mike Testa presented an ordinance to authorize payment to the airport fixed-base operator (FBO), Flight Services of Wadsworth LLC, for services from June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. Testa said the annual amount is $98,748.00 and that the monthly payment of $8,229 represents a roughly 5% increase over the prior year. "This was a five-year agreement and each year there was an escalator clause for payment," Testa explained.
Council Member Zach Berger sought confirmation about the company’s responsibilities; Testa replied Flight Services manages day-to-day airport operations, customer service, fuel sales, coordination of maintenance, and grounds work such as grass mowing and snow removal. The committee carried a motion to forward the ordinance to Council with a suspend-and-call recommendation.
