Council hears updates on oral-history project and downtown events

A Chamber-affiliated speaker thanked the council for renewing a grant for the 2nd Saturday program, described recent business roundtables and placemaking work, and invited the community to an Oct. 12 event at the Siskiyou Arts Museum to support a fundraising effort to purchase a building for the museum. The speaker said the group is “a little over halfway” to a $200,000 goal to secure a permanent facility.
Council members welcomed the initiatives as part of downtown revitalization work and public-engagement efforts tied to the city’s ongoing planning and survey work.
