Brewer plans Oct. 10 Halloween parade, with costume contest for children

The Brewer Culture & Arts Committee on June 22 authorized planning for a Halloween parade on Oct. 10, with a contingency to host a Halloween party on that date if the parade route cannot be secured. Marissa Worster reported that she had spoken with Eric and Chris Martin about logistics; committee members agreed to pursue the Wilson Street route from the Auditorium parking lot to the waterfront.
Under the plan floats and larger vehicles would disperse while children in costumes would continue to the Children’s Garden for a costume contest and event announcements. 'Mandy' moved to set Oct. 10 as the parade date, with a Halloween party as a backup; Lee Ohmart seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The committee asked Marissa and the Martins to confirm route logistics and permitting.
