Garden Club to fund Little Free Library; board offers site and installation support

A representative of the Working Ladies Garden Club told the Amelia County Board on March 1 that the group intends to purchase and maintain a larger Little Free Library and asked the county for help finding a safe, visible location and assistance with installation.
The presenter said the structure will cost roughly $500 and the club will cover all materials, registration and ongoing maintenance. Board members suggested camera‑visible sites near the sheriff’s office and courthouse square and said county staff (Eric and Daryl) could coordinate placement. “We will maintain it... We’re not asking the county for money. This is our community project this year,” the presenter said.
Supervisors agreed by consensus to support the project and to have county staff work with the club on siting and installation; no formal appropriation or vote was required.
