The Amelia County Board of Supervisors on March 1 authorized the county administrator to execute the VDOT Appendix A agreement and all associated documents for the Route 385 (Forks Road) sidewalk project (UPC 125357).
Staff said the project’s second phase will cost more than originally estimated; the first phase is budgeted in this year’s CIP and the remaining funds are included in the administrator’s recommended budget for next year. A board member moved that the supervisor authorize the county administrator to execute the Appendix A agreement to advance the work. “I move that the board authorize the county administrator to execute the VDOT Appendix A agreement for the Route 385 Forks Road sidewalk project UPC 125357 as presented,” the supervisor said; the motion carried on a voice vote.
Board members praised usage of earlier sidewalk phases at recent events and said construction will provide connectivity for pedestrians and event attendees. Staff will proceed with required contract execution and project administration.
