The Harvey County Commission voted 2-1 on June 3 to approve the 2026 Extension Council budget with a total appropriation of $380,000. Commissioner Terry Scott moved for approval and Commissioner Don Schroeder seconded; Commissioner Becky Reimer voted no, stating she favored lowering the appropriation by about $10,000.
Assistant County Administrator/Finance Director Shannon Kingsley said the Extension Council requested no increase for 2026 and that the council's 2025 appropriation had been $380,000. The board authorized the chair to sign the budget approval. The action follows the county's procedural 10-day review window after receipt of the request from the Extension Council.
