The Escondido Union High School District board took several formal actions on Feb. 11 during a lengthy public meeting.
Closed-session report: Trustee Kristi/Christy Knight reported that during closed session the board approved physical education waivers (case numbers read aloud) and graduation waivers (cases 28—35) for the 2024—25 school year. The report listed trustees who voted in favor and recorded no dissenting votes.
Expulsion: Under action item F4 the board moved, seconded and approved the stipulated expulsion agreement for case number 3, effective from Feb. 11, 2025 through at least Feb. 12, 2026. The roll-call vote recorded trustees voting "aye," and the motion carried.
Proclamations and HR items: The board approved a proclamation designating March 2—8 as School Social Worker Week. Human-resources staff briefed trustees on the initial proposal from CSEA (Chapter 219) to reopen wage and benefits articles for negotiations; the district noted it will mirror those openings in its own initial proposal.
Policy and ballot actions: Trustees adopted recommended revisions to BP/AR language (a second read) related to bid thresholds and general-obligation bond text. The board also cast its ballot for the California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly, submitting Bob Weller as the district representative.
No financial totals for waivers or placements were announced at the meeting; the board concluded by hearing board and superintendent reports and adjourning late in the evening.
