Audit flags outside county bank accounts, WIPFLI auditor says

The Ford County Finance Committee heard an audit presentation from WIPFLI on June 5, during which the firm's presenter said the FY25 audit identified multiple outside bank accounts the auditors consider a potential red flag. The presentation was delivered via Teams as part of the meeting in the small courtroom at the Ford County Courthouse.
"The main concern with the audit was that Ford County holds several outside bank accounts," Josh, presenting for WIPFLI, told the committee. He added that auditors also noted problems with communication between Locis and WIPFLI, and that he would pass the concern to a colleague who would contact the Treasurer and Clerk to resolve the issue. Chair Sarah Mussman moved new business into the public-comment portion of the agenda so the committee could hear the audit report.
