Platte County seeks bids for community center fitness equipment and rooftop HVAC, approves prefab bathroom purchase

Platte County Parks and Recreation asked the commission for permission to solicit bids for fitness equipment at community centers and to replace a condensating rooftop HVAC at the Platts Community Center, and the commission approved both requests for bids.
Parks Director Daniel Erickson said staff is seeking stair-steppers, strength-training equipment and trade-in options, with bids due Aug. 21. He also described the leaking rooftop HVAC at the Platts Community Center and recommended replacement via a request for bids with the same August 21 deadline.
Separately the commission approved a Sourcewell purchase and a memorandum of understanding to buy a prefabricated men's and women's bathroom for Berry Platt Park at a cost of $127,447 to be paid from the park fund. Erickson said the county is moving away from portable toilets and that a previously ordered unit for Michael Gunn Park has been delayed but is expected to arrive soon.
The approved purchases and solicitations aim to improve park amenities and ensure facilities are ready for community use in coming months.
