Council approves Rich Haven development agreement after resident raises park-equity concerns

Robles told the council he reviewed the packet and said the specific plan shows room for a park but that his neighborhood near 4th and Vineyard (Meredith International Center, District 4) has no walkable park. He told the council, "This is exactly why I went to district elections," and argued the city's priorities for South Ontario have left older neighborhoods without park investments. After closing the hearing the council moved, seconded and voted to approve the ordinance; the record shows the item passed 5–0.
The vote authorizes the development agreement as presented; on the record Robles urged more equitable park planning for older neighborhoods that lack walkable open space.
