Veronica Cortez, supervising librarian for adult services, and John Encarnacion, an adult services librarian, described the library's Lightspeed makerspace and the equipment available for residents. Cortez said the makerspace has a "laser cutter," 3‑D printing facilities and sewing machines, and that staff are available to assist patrons with projects; Encarnacion noted that families can use a Prusa 3D printer to make small items and prototypes.
Both librarians emphasized that Lightspeed is free for Ontario City library cardholders and that materials and staff assistance are provided. The presentation was recorded as a community‑service report; no council action was required.
