Piedmont Education Foundation reports $2.5M raised toward $4M goal; organizers push for 75% parent participation

Representatives of the Piedmont Education Foundation updated the board on the district's community fundraising drive, telling trustees the campaign has raised more than $2.5 million to date out of a $4 million target.
"So far, we have raised over 2,500,000 from 772 households, and we are grateful for every donation," Heather Frank (PEF) told the board. She added that 58% of parents had not yet given and that organizers hope to increase participation to 75% with a public giving meter and community events. Speaker Katie Osborne emphasized that even with Measure P there remains a need for philanthropic support to sustain programs the district values.
PEF leaders noted strong site-level participation — the PUSD school board, Millennium High School Parents Club and PEF board had all achieved 100% participation — and encouraged continued neighborhood canvassing and volunteer outreach. They also announced community engagement events, including a parent-focused gathering featuring Superintendent Hahn and publicity efforts through local social channels.
