Police log: 191 calls in two weeks; Fire Department notes EMR certifications and OSHA matter with Daybreak Foods

Mayor Jim Kreemer relayed Chief Ryan Hanson's report that the Long Prairie Police Department handled 191 calls between June 11 and June 24, 2025, an average of about 14.5 calls per day. The report listed 8 suspicious-activity calls, 50 traffic-related calls, 7 medicals, 8 disturbance/domestic-assaults, 4 civil, 1 theft and 7 assists; vehicle-related complaints totaled 40 and were mainly vehicles parked in yards.
Fire Chief Dan Laumeyer told the council that two staff members, Angie and Kim, passed EMR courses and are now certified, and that the department has been coordinating with Daybreak Foods and OSHA on a cited issue. He also noted LP Fire was on standby during recent storms and that they will support the Todd County Fair and Swanville Carnival this weekend.
