Long Prairie public-works update: lift station testing planned, Riverside Park phase 1 near completion

Council Member Clint Krueger said Public Works crews have been mowing, trimming, patching holes and performing crack-filling in advance of the Hwy 287 project. He told the council contractors are locating utilities and that localized flooding has appeared where storm-drain work is underway on Fourth Street.
Mayor Jim Kreemer relayed the engineer's update that the main lift station electrical controls are nearly finished and that a test startup and staff training are scheduled; if startup succeeds the new lift station will handle flow and must operate for 30 days before the old station is demolished. Riverside Park phase 1 is also nearly complete and staff continue to finalize contractor requirements under the grant.
