Long Prairie hires beach supervisor and city clerk; ends administrator probation
Summary
The council hired Amy Host as a beach supervisor at $15/hour, hired Callaway Neumann as City Clerk/Finance Officer at $29.44/hour (start June 30, probation 6–12 months), and removed City Administrator/Clerk Candace Bruder from probation effective June 10, 2025.
The council approved three personnel motions during the June 11 meeting. Council Member Clint Krueger moved to hire Amy Host as the third beach supervisor at $15 per hour; Council Member Gabrier Perez seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.
Council Member Lilah Gripne moved to hire Callaway Neumann as City Clerk/Finance Officer at Step 1, $29.44 per hour, with a six-month to one-year probationary period and a start date of June 30; Council Member JoAnn Schroeder seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. The council noted four individuals had been interviewed for the clerk position and that a background check was completed and passed for the selected candidate.
Separately, Council Member JoAnn Schroeder moved to remove City Administrator/Clerk Candace Bruder from her one-year probation as of June 10, 2025; Council Member Lilah Gripne seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.
