District leaders described CALS (Collaborative Administrative Leadership Series), a recurring cross-district meeting that brings five districts together to co-create priorities and action plans for math alignment.
"We rotate who's gonna play host, and we co-create the agendas," Dr. Kirk McGinnis said, summarizing the CALS structure. He and other presenters said the work focuses on vertical alignment (8th grade through high school) so that elementary and middle school partners and the high school district teach compatible priority standards.
Presenters also announced a partnership with Rio Hondo College: the Rio Hondo Math Academy will pilot summer workbooks built on the districtpriority standards and offer programming for IM1, IM2, IM3 and precalculus. The district said materials will be provided to students participating in the academy.
