Resident alerts council to recurring library roof leaks; staff says roofer will return

Karen O'Quinn told the council that the library is experiencing three new leaks in the bookstore area after a recent roof replacement and temporary repairs have been installed (tarps and sandbags). She said prior leaks forced closures in November, December and early January and asked what the plan of action will be to avoid extended library closures.

City Manager Reif said staff had been in contact with the roofer but weather had impeded a return visit; he said the roofer had guaranteed their work and staff expects them to inspect and make repairs as soon as conditions allow. "So, yes, the roofer was supposed to show up," Reif said, and staff will continue coordinating to address the leaks.

Council acknowledged the issue and directed staff to address the repairs during the staff update and future coordination with the roofer. No formal action or funding decision was taken during the meeting.
