Transparency and public engagement were recurring themes at the Dunsmuir Chamber candidates forum.
Ahmed Tasi proposed concrete outreach steps if elected, including monthly "office hours" and regular listening tours to connect with residents. "I would like to allocate office hours every month, 2 to 4 hours," he said. Sarah Sebring suggested expanding social-media outreach and holding periodic Q&A forums at local businesses. Dwight Bailey criticized current staff-report formats and the use of special meetings with short notice; he called for clearer postings and more citizen involvement in code and planning processes.
Bailey also recommended the planning commission and council make agendas and ad hoc committee activity more visible and argued that too much authority has been delegated to staff in some areas. Candidates said improved communication could reduce community anger and help prioritize projects, but they offered different operational proposals rather than a shared, detailed plan.
