Trustees say they were not told of Carrus' sale efforts; operator says it informed council

Jon Rains, the Carrus representative, said he had informed the council and later apologized for the apparent misunderstanding. City Attorney Beth Anne Childs said she and the mayor had a conversation with Rains' attorney indicating Carrus planned to attempt a sale, which the trustees said they did not recall being told. Trustees said better and earlier notice would have influenced deliberations.
The disagreement over who was told led trustees to question process and transparency; the authority ultimately voted to leave the termination in place rather than risk a change without clearer assurances or documented plans.
