Bristow Hospital Authority authorizes counsel to pursue ARPA and reimbursement claims

The Bristow Hospital Authority voted Oct. 8 to authorize its attorney and outside counsel to proceed with claims and communications relating to ARPA funding, hospital expenditures, licensure and reimbursement issues. The motion, made by Trustee Randy Witty and seconded by Trustee Judd Johns, passed on a roll call vote with all present trustees voting Aye.
The motion followed an executive-session authorization under 25 O.S. §307(B)(4) to discuss confidential communications and potential litigation concerning claims by the Oklahoma State Department of Health involving ARPA grant reimbursement and claims for reimbursement by Carrus Lakeside Hospital, LLC. Trustee Judd Johns said the decision "has not been taken lightly," adding trustees were considering the best interest of Bristow and its employees. The authority directed counsel to communicate with Department of Health representatives and Carrus as part of the next steps.
