The County of Maui Council on Aging approved forwarding a letter regarding long‑term care options for seniors to the Mayor’s Office at its May 12 meeting. Staff from the Office of Health Care Assurance presented background on long‑term care options; the Council agreed the letter should be directed to the Mayor and cc’d to Human Concerns, Public Works, Maui Fire Department, Chief of Staff, and Chairperson Alice Lee of the Maui County Council.
There was no recorded objection to forwarding the letter and the Council approved transmission for signature by the Mayor. County Executive Rowena Dagdag‑Andaya’s report at the same meeting also described FY27 budget requests that include efforts to transition ADRC‑funded positions to the general fund to stabilize staffing for home and community‑based services.
