The Board of Harvey County Commissioners approved a design proposal from Schaefer Architecture for the Harvey County Courthouse remodel on April 29. Schaefer’s services will cover schematic design through construction administration, including architectural and interior design and structural, mechanical and electrical engineering as needed.
The design fee was estimated at $525,700 — roughly 7% of the projected construction cost in the proposal. Commissioner Terry Scott moved to approve the proposal and to authorize staff to finalize a formal AIA contract with Schaefer Architecture; Becky Reimer seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously. The vote authorizes staff to negotiate and execute the architectural contract consistent with the proposal for the courthouse remodel design phase.
