Harvey County commissioners approved multiple procurement and lease matters during May meetings included in the transcript.
The Parks Department recommended awarding a bid for 36 championship disc golf baskets and poles to Innova Disc Golf; the commission approved the award to Innova for $13,397.34. On April 29 the Noxious Weed Department opened herbicide bids and awarded items 1 and 2 to Nutrien Solutions for a total of $17,256.60. The Health Department’s vehicle bid resulted in award to Davis-Moore for a 2025 Chevy Tahoe at a net bid of $65,895 (pending specification review). Road & Bridge Superintendent Jim Meier presented the Kansas Department of Transportation 2025 Federal Fund Exchange Program agreement; the commission approved exchanging the county’s allotment for a net total of $138,846.01 in state funds at a 90% exchange rate.
On airport matters, Airport Manager Brian Palmer presented and the commission approved a lease agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration related to navigational equipment maintenance and approved a termination and new lease to allow Joe Bravo Aviation, LLC to lease Hangar A and the negotiated release and hold harmless agreement with Horizon Aviation Services, LLC.
Most procurement votes passed unanimously; staff noted the disc golf award was within budget and the Tahoe purchase would be contingent upon final compliance review.
