Council Member JoAnn Schroeder moved and the council unanimously approved allowing the Long Prairie Lions Club to obtain two quotes for two projects at Lake Charlotte: replacing two parking areas and installing lights at the pickleball courts. The motion authorizes the Lions to gather quotes and return with proposals for city consideration.
Schroeder said the club volunteered to help with these improvements and noted the full parking-lot replacement would likely need additional city funding because of its size. The council also discussed other volunteer-led improvements and directed the Lions to bring two quotes for each project when ready. "A motion was made by Council Member Schroeder to allow the Lions Club to move forward with discussed projects by obtaining two quotes for laying and replacing the tar at the two areas by Lake Charlotte Park and the lights at the pickleball courts; it was seconded by Council Member Gripne; unanimously approved," the minutes record.
