Engineer: new lift station running soon; old station to be removed after one-month test run

City Engineer Kent Louwagie told the council the new main lift station structures, pumps and some piping are installed and that contractors will next install electrical conduits, wiring, control pads and a generator. "The contract requires them to run the new station for one month without any issues before tearing down the old lift station," Louwagie said.
Louwagie also noted routine water testing shows water free of contaminants and described a July timeline for removing the old station and demolishing a nearby building if the month-long run is successful. The council asked staff to continue oversight as the remaining infrastructure and testing proceed.
