Union City Borough Council voted unanimously Aug. 27 to remove a borough lien of approximately $2,690 from 121 East High Street after the property was donated to the Erie County Landbank.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells said the borough held a lien against the property for $2,690 and that the Landbank requested the lien be removed. In a recorded motion, "MOTION TO REMOVE/SATISFY THE LIEN AGAINST 121 EAST HIGH STREET FOR THE FULL AMOUNT, APPROXIMATELY $2,690," Councilor Kerns moved the measure and Councilor Steadman seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Council did not attach additional conditions in the meeting minutes. The action clears the borough's recorded lien and may influence how the Landbank proceeds with the donated property.
