Council approves retroactive easement at 104 East High for catch basin connection

Union City Borough council approved a retroactive easement to allow the borough to install a catch basin at 104 East High Street and to accept responsibility for two catch basins and about 60 feet of connecting pipe.
PennDOT is installing one catch basin and the borough agreed to install another; the property owner, Anthony Hickey, will install a pipe between the PennDOT basin and the borough basin, dig and maintain the ditch, and assume responsibility for the ditch. Solicitor Tim Wachter will prepare the easement agreement. Councilor Osborn moved to approve the retroactive easement and Councilor Kerns seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes record the terms of the arrangement but do not include the easement document itself or dates for installation and pipe work.
