Cindy Wells and Councilor Brian Osborn reported meeting with Municipal Benefit Services to evaluate borough employee health insurance options and said preliminary estimates indicate a potential annual savings of about $13,730 by switching from Benecon to MBS. The council moved to approve changing providers for 2025 provided estimated termination costs would not exceed $42,000.
The minutes record that Councilor Riley Cross and Councilor James Kerns abstained from the recorded vote; council approved the conditional motion and directed staff to obtain final termination estimates and run-out costs by Oct. 15, 2024 before implementing any change.
