Union City Borough Council approved a resolution Sept. 16 supporting Erie County’s effort to develop a new countywide comprehensive housing plan. Councilor Osborn moved and Councilor Steadman seconded the resolution; the motion passed unanimously.
Council materials state the county will use MAP grant funds and Act 137 (Affordable Housing Act) deed-transfer funds to develop recommendations to improve housing quality and affordability. The minutes note that several borough residents have submitted applications for Act 137 funds, which are awarded based on income eligibility.
